Themes, density & layout

InTab adapts to how you like to work. Most of these live in Settings → General and Settings → Workspace.

Theme

Set Settings → General → Theme to System, Light, or Dark. The header also has a quick dark ↔ light toggle for switching on the fly (the header toggle flips between light and dark; choose System in Settings if you want InTab to follow your OS automatically).

Density

Settings → Workspace → Layout density switches between Comfortable (more breathing room) and Compact (more on screen at once).

Which panels show

Right-click the panel switcher, or use Settings → Workspace, to hide panels you never touch (for example, if you don’t use History). At least one panel stays visible, and hidden panels also drop out of the command palette. See The new tab, panel by panel.

New-tab widgets

Under Settings → New Tab you control the takeover and what the page focuses on:

  • Show InTab on every new tab - turn the takeover off to keep blank new tabs and open InTab from the toolbar instead.
  • AI search provider - where the new-tab AI search sends you (Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT, or Perplexity), with optional specific model versions.
  • Widgets - show saved tabs, recent history, and bookmarks.

Wallpaper

The background itself is the screensaver system - see Wallpapers & screensaver.
